Dear friends, musicians, vocal artists, conductors, directors and opera lovers,
November 29, 2024 will be a day of remembrance and commemoration dedicated to the illustrious Maestro Giacomo Puccini, who died on 29 November 1924 at 1 Avenue de la Couronne in Ixelles (Brussels/Belgium), leaving his final masterpiece Turandot unfinished.

This historic moment of remembrance will be a unique occasion to celebrate the composer whose magnificent works you have the honour of performing throughout your brilliant careers. Therefore, the Giacomo Puccini Lyric Centre in Brussels proposes to lay a commemorative plaque and a bust of the Maestro in the foyer of the prestigious Théâtre de la Monnaie on November 29, 2024, since it was in this great opera house that Giacomo Puccini attended his last opera, a performance of his own Madame Butterfly, just a few days before his death.

In the hope that we who love the Maestro and his masterpieces may all bear witness to our admiration and eternal affection for the universal heritage bequeathed by the immense composer of Manon Lescaut, La Bohème, Tosca, Mme. Butterfly, La fancuilla del West, Il Trittico and Turandot, do not hesitate to join us by making a financial contribution towards the realisation of this dream, hoping that this gesture may become a noble tribute to the Maestro who, more than anyone else, enriches our lives with his moving and flamboyant music.
